There is no precise definition of Subhanallah in English but it is generally mean” Allah is perfect” ,”Glory be to Allah”,free from any imperfection.
In the Quran there are some verses in which Subhanallah is mentioned and its often recite with the context of warning people from comparing Allah to other deities,So Subhan Allah encompasses the main principal of Tawheed (Allah is the one and only the most glorious and it is declaration that he is above any fault or shortcoming .

As a powerful Dikr:
Subhan Allah is a powerful Dikr, if a person recite it 100 times a days ,his 1000 sins will be removed /forgiven .
SubhanAllah wa biHamdihi Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “Whoever says, ‘Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi,’ one hundred times a day, will be forgiven all his sins even if they were as much as the foam of the sea. (Book #75, Hadith #414)

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “There are two statements that are light for the tongue to remember, heavy in the Scales and are dear to the Merciful: `Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, Subhan-Allahil-Azhim [Glory be to Allah and His is the praise, (and) Allah, the Greatest is free from imperfection)’.”
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim

Often prophets used these powerful words like Prophet Nooh at his death bed recite them and taught his children these words. Hazrat Younas (AS) in wheal(fish) belly recite these words .Hazrat Dawood(AS) recite these words often from sunrise to sunset. Paradise people when ever need or desire anything they will say Subhan Allah.

Juwairiyah bint Al-Harith (May Allah be pleased with her) reported, the Mother of the Believers:
The Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) came out from my apartment in the morning as I was busy in performing the dawn prayer. He came back in the forenoon and found me sitting there.
The Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said,
“Are you still in the same position as I left you.”
I replied in the affirmative.
Thereupon the Prophet said,
“I recited four words three times after I had left you. If these are to be weighed against all you have recited since morning, these will be heavier.
These are:
Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, `adada khalqihi, wa rida nafsihi, wa zinatah `arshihi, wa midada kalimatihi
[Muslim].

Assalam Alaykum.

Some other dimensions of Subhan Allah include:

1) Allah (ﷻ) created human being in the perfect form. If a human does mistake or commits a sin, this can't be attributed to Allah (ﷻ). Only human being is to blame for any shortcomings. Just like a teacher who delivers lectures perfectly in class. All students get A grade except one who fails. THe one who fails, only him to be blamed not teacher. This dimension is covered in below Ayaats of Quran:

2) Creatures may have some pros and cons. Only Allah (ﷻ) is perfect and his no cons.

3) There are 2 ways to do Tasbeeh of Allah (ﷻ). One is using tongue (QAAL) and the other through obedience in actions (HAAL). Everything in the sky and earth does Tasbeeh of Allah (ﷻ) in QAAL or HAAL.

Next question is what is the difference between Allah and Allahumma?

What is the difference between Allah and Allahhuma

Arabic word of creator and sustainer of everything in the universe including Quran all from Him. The word Allah appears 1700 times in Quran. Allah has countless attributes Al Bukhaaree Hadees # 2836 mentions 99. Attributes comprise countless blessings beyond our comprehension and understanding. They have been derived from Quran and Ahdees.
Allahhumma includes Al-Meem Al-Mushaddadah which in Arabic Language works as booster dose to the word attached. Word Allah itself denotes possessor of everything created and maintained in perfect alignment when added with humma results in unbelievable strength and power”

Assalam Alaykum

When we make Duaa for something we ask Allah ﷻ with that attribute which is relevant. For example, if we want Shifa we say Ya Shafi. Similarly, for rizq we say Ya Razzaq. For authority we say Ya Azeez, for wisdom we say Ya Hakeem.

If we want to make duaa with all attributes of Allah ﷻ, that will be the most powerful duaa. If we say one word Allahumma, that is equivalent to marking duaa with all attributes of Allah ﷻ.

It was narrated from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) that he said: “Allah has ninety-nine names; whoever memorizes them will enter Paradise,” and one of these names is the greatest name of Allah (اسم أعظم) which, if He is called upon thereby, He will answer and if He is asked thereby, He will give.

Next question is what is اسم أعظم of Allah ﷻ?

Next question is what is اسم أعظم of Allah ﷻ?
After studying few Hadiths books and websites about Ism Azam ( I also watched few YouTube clips by Dr Israr Ahmed, Makki Al Hijazi, Sheikh Sanaullah Zahed and few others ) I came to the point that perhaps the view that is most likely of all of them to be correct is the view that the greatest name is “Allah,” because this is the one name which encompasses all the other names and attributes of Allah, may He be exalted, and it is a name that was never given to anyone other than Allah, may He be exalted. Allah is the most repeated word in the Quran. In sura Naml ayat no 9 Allah says “O Moses! Its is truly I, I am Allah- the Almighty -Al Wise.”

About Duaa, it is the intensity and feeling in which we make our request to Allah. It depend on کیفئت in which a person seek refuge and blessing.Mostly people make duaa with relevant attribute like , if we want Shifa we say Ya Shafi. Similarly, for rizq we say Ya Razzaq. But I daily make Duaa by simply saying O Allah (Allahumma)….and then my whole duaa in my mother tongue and when I am tense or eager for something I recite YA HAYYU YA QAYYUM BI RAHMATIKA ASTAGHEETH or 3rd Qalima (start and end with Darood Shareef). So it all depend upon how a person makes Duaa.
